Of Likes, Expectations and Ofcourse Life!!

A month long hiatus from Blogging was broken by an inspiring conversation i has with one my buddies!
She having Just got into an ARRANGED Commitment had loads to share! We just got talking how Arranged and Acceptable the whole process of Arranged marriage is.
We hit upon the PIE formula...
Physical, Intellectual and Emotional Equation, with the order of importance being EIP.

The beauty of Indian Arranged Marriage System is the neatness with which it executes the Singledom. Be it the guy or the gal, they gracefully lose the goodness of Singledom and venture into the world of their own.

Least Important ones first..

Physical Equation: You might call it unworthy and cheap to look into one's external appearance.
But there is more it, is what i heard. The Face is the index of mind. Period.
I was reminded of a Reader's Digest Article that elucidated the some 17 steps for finding a relationship that lasts longer.
If i m not wrong, they did cite Appearance factor. Its more to do with how you can mentally attach yourself to someone who you are comfortable with.
Intellectual: Well, there is nothing as effective as conversation. Be it a conversation through the language of words or the language of Silence.
A conversation (not an Argument!!!!!!!!!!!) That keeps the people involved is a sign of companionship. Be it the reciprocation of ideas (views) or the openness’ in accepting things or the assertiveness in stressing things or the topic itself; the comfort level each other possess is of prime importance
Emotional: To Emote is one of the signs of Life is any form of Living being.
The Emotional Equation is The deciding factor for any relationship. Hidden behind those Spoken and Unspoken words is an Emotion that is the TRUE SELF of the person. It is this Emotional Quotient that tries to come out through the Gestures, Words, Silences, Smilies, Gifts and what not.
More than often, we are carried away by these mediums of expression that we forget to compliment the emotion. Acknowledging each other's emotion is a sure sign of the longitivity of the relationship..

Well; for all these aspects to hit the bulls eye, there are three other factors that must be kept in mind ,
EXPECTATIONS : Of all the 1001 likes a person mite have in his life, there could a few of them that he would Expect from his Companion.. ! So, its all the more important to know thyself before one might venture looking for COMPANION.

DESTINY: Being a Hindu by faith, I seriously couldn’t wrap this post without the mention of the DIVINITY. For all that’s said here, HE holds the WAND that would lead one on the right path.

OOOPSS... been a long post... be it this post or the process of Likes, Expectations and Of course LIFE is worth every moment that’s spent.

Cheers!
Suha

First things first - Congrats :)

And it has been almost a 3 month hiatus :P
Probably you were singing duets in the dream world ;) :P

"Acknowledging each other's emotion is a sure sign of the longitivity of the relationship"
Very true!

"important to know thyself before one might venture looking for COMPANION"
True once again!

Finally, I don't see any mention of TRUST. Isn't that also an important factor in a relationship?

"Acknowledging each other's emotion is a sure sign of the longitivity of the relationship" - i will rather say 'acknowledging that each other can have emotions and giving them the freedom to have the same is.." :)

"important to know thyself before one might venture looking for COMPANION"
- agreed!

Finally ! An interesting post.
The 'PIE' is actually a very good measure of the circle of a relationship. But I must say that the order of importance would have to be EPI, rather than EIP. Reason, because two people in an relationship first relate to their Emotions of each other, then Physical intimacy brings them together, and then only the Intellect will sustain the said relationship. Now you might argue with this line of thought, but the plain truth is that Physical Equation is far more important than said Intellectual Equation.

Well, as for the "Three Other Factors", I cannot say that I care much for the 'Destiny' and 'Divinity' part. And you can add Sacrifice too, since it is bound tightly to Expectations. For that matter, I must also say that more often than not, the unexpected gives more joy than the usual expectations.

Now, 'Destiny' & 'Divinity' does not have anything to do with a relationship. Destiny is just what we make for ourselves. And as for Divinity, He/She(Read as GOD) does not hold the WAND, but rather He/She(GOD) would reach out to those who have what it takes to be on the right path.

yours truly,
